Should you have additional questions on the handling of your personal data, please contact our data protection officer, whose contact details you will find below.
Basic information
Unless otherwise stated in the following sections, no personal data is generally collected, processed or used when you use our websites.
Users’ personal data is used for the following purposes:
- To execute our services and user services.
- To guarantee effective customer service and technical support. When you contact us, we will save your details to allow us to process your enquiry, and in case you have follow-up questions.
- To provide technical and business notifications regarding our product range.
- To send out newsletters or other advertising material, provided that the user has given us the necessary consent.
When you access our Internet sites, our web servers automatically collect general information. This includes the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of the Internet service provider, the IP address of the computer used, the website you are visiting us from, the pages you visit on our site and the date and duration of the visit.
We cannot use this data to identify individual users. We merely statistically evaluate the information and use it exclusively to improve the attractiveness, content and functionality of our websites.
The term ‘personal data’
The term ‘personal data’ is defined in Germany’s Federal Data Protection Act. According to this definition, personal data includes individual details regarding the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable person. This therefore includes, for example, your legal name, your address, your telephone number and your date of birth.
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) defines ‘personal data’ as follows:
All information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (hereinafter ‘data subject’); a natural person is regarded as identifiable if they can be identified directly or indirectly, especially by assigning them to an identifying feature such as a name, an ID number, location data, an online ID or one or more special characteristics which are an expression of this natural person's physical, physiological, genetic, psychological, economic, cultural or social identity.
Legal basis for the collection and processing of personal data
If we obtain your consent for the processing of your personal data, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR serves as the legal basis for the processing of your personal data.
If we are processing your data to fulfill a contract between you and Leuze electronic assembly, Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR serves as the legal basis for this processing. This also applies to processing which is required for the execution of precontractual measures.
If processing of personal data is required to fulfill a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR serves as the legal basis for this processing.
If the processing is required to protect a legitimate interest on the part of our company or a third party and the data subject’s interests, basic rights and basic freedoms do not outweigh the aforementioned interest, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR serves as the legal basis for this processing.
Deletion of data and storage period
The data subject’s personal data will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of the storage lapses. Storage may go beyond this if this has been prescribed by European or national legislation in EU regulations, laws or other requirements which the responsible party is subject to. Data will also be blocked or deleted when a storage period prescribed by the above standards expires, unless it is necessary to continue storing the data to conclude or fulfill a contract.
Collection and processing of personal data
Personal data will only be collected if you submit it yourself, for example for the fulfillment of an order, a survey, a competition or registration for personalized services. There you will be informed of the intended purpose of the processing and if necessary asked to give your consent to the storage of the data.
Unless you give your consent, the personal data collected by our website will only be used to process your orders or enquiries, and may be forwarded to the responsible group company for this purpose. Your data will only be used beyond this in a centrally maintained customer and prospect database administered by Leuze electronic assembly GmbH and merged within the Leuze group of companies if you give your consent. The use of this data is restricted to the purposes of advertising and market and opinion research. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future.
If we provide services in advance, e.g. for purchase on account, we may protect our legitimate interests by obtaining a credit check on the basis of mathematical-statistical procedures from Creditreform Stuttgart Strahler KG, Theodor-Heuss-Straße 2, 70174 Stuttgart, Germany. For this purpose, we transmit the data required for a credit check to Creditreform Stuttgart Strahler KG, Theodor-Heuss-Straße 2, 70174 Stuttgart, Germany and use the information we receive on the statistical probability of a payment default to make a balanced decision on the justification, execution or termination of the contractual relationship. The credit check may include probability values (score values) calculated on the basis of recognized mathematical-statistical procedures using address data, among other things. Your protectable interests will be taken into account according to the legal provisions.
Your data will be encrypted before transmission and processing to protect it from unauthorized access. Please bear in mind that unencrypted emails are not protected from such access.
We will not rent or sell your data or make it accessible to third parties in any other way than described here. Personal data is transferred to state organizations and authorities only to the extent required by mandatory provisions of national law. We have placed our employees, agencies and dealers under an obligation of strict confidentiality.

The newsletter is sent out on the basis of the user’s registration on the website:
Our website gives you the option of subscribing to a free newsletter. When you subscribe to the newsletter, the data from the input screen is transmitted to us.

The following data is also collected when you subscribe:
(1) IP address of the accessing computer
(2) Date and time of registration
Your consent is obtained for the processing of the data as part of the registration process and reference is made to this privacy policy. The newsletter will also be sent out on the basis of sale of goods or services:

No data is passed on to third parties in connection with the data processing for sending newsletters. The data will only be used to send the newsletter.
The legal basis for processing data following registration for the newsletter with the user’s consent is Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. The legal basis for sending the newsletter following sale of goods or services is § 7 (3) UWG (Unfair Competition Act).

Transmission of data to companies within the Leuze Group
We will generally not transmit your data to third parties outside of Leuze Group unless we are legally obliged to do so, or disclosure of data is required to pursue the contractual relationship, or you have previously given explicit consent to the disclosure of your data. External service providers and partner companies will only receive your data if this is required to process your enquiry. In these cases, however, we restrict the extent of the data we transmit to the minimum required. Where our service providers come into contact with your personal data, we ensure that they likewise comply with the requirements of data protection law. Please also observe the providers’ respective data protection notices. Responsibility for the content of outside services lies with the relevant service provider, whereby we check the services for compliance with legal requirements as far as we reasonably can.
Transmission of data to external service providers (external processors)
Your data will be forwarded to service partners where they act on our behalf and support Leuze electronic assembly in the provision of their services.
Contracted providers will process your personal data within the framework of order processing according to Art. 28 GDPR. The aforementioned service providers only receive access to personal information which is required for the fulfillment of their respective duties. Service providers are prohibited from forwarding your personal data or using it for other purposes, in particular for their own advertising purposes.
Where external service providers come into contact with your personal data, we have taken legal, technical and organizational measures and carried out regular checks to ensure that these service providers also comply with the applicable data protection regulations. Your personal data is not forwarded to other companies for commercial purposes.
Website optimization tools
When collecting personal data via website optimization tools, we rely on our legitimate interest in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in conjunction with Recital 47. According to this, direct marketing is generally a legitimate interest. Your interests, basic rights and basic freedoms do not outweigh our interest in advertising, because our data privacy declaration provides you with comprehensive information on data collection and you have the option to opt out at any time (via a link or browser settings). We also only use pseudonymous tracking.
Cookies
Some areas of our websites use so-called cookies. A cookie is a small text file which a website stores on your hard drive. Cookies do not damage your computer or contain viruses. The cookies from our websites do not collect personal data of any kind. We use the information contained in cookies to make it easier for you to use our sites and to tailor them to your needs.
Our site uses both session cookies and permanent cookies. Session cookies are temporary cookies stored in the user’s internet browser until the browser window is closed and the session cookies are deleted. Permanent cookies are used for repeated visits and are stored in the user’s browser for a particular time period (usually one year or longer). These cookies are not deleted when the browser is closed. This type of cookie is used to reapply a user’s preferences as soon as they return to the site.
Of course, you can also view our website without cookies. If you do not wish cookies to be stored on your computer, you can deactivate the corresponding option in your browser’s system settings. You can delete stored cookies in your browser’s system settings at any time. You can find details on how this works in your browser manufacturer's instructions. We would like to point out, however, that refusing to accept cookies may restrict your use of our website.
Google Analytics
Provided you have given your consent to this, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, on this website. The controller for users in the EU/EEA and Switzerland is Google Ireland Limited, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google").
Google Analytics uses cookies that enable analysis of your use of our website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
For Google Analytics, the anonymization of IP addresses is activated as the default setting. Based on the IP anonymization, your IP address is truncated by Google within Member States of the European Union or other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the US and shortened there. The IP address provided by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.
Your user behavior will be recorded during your visit to the website.
Während Ihres Website-Besuchs wird Ihr Nutzerverhalten erfasst.
On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, and compiling reports on website activity. The reports provided by Google Analytics are used to analyze the performance of our website and the success of our marketing campaigns.
Recipients of the data are/could be
- Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (as processor according to Article 28 GDPR)
- Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA
- Alphabet Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA

Transmission of data to the USA and access by US authorities to the data stored by Google cannot be ruled out. From a data privacy perspective, the USA is at present considered a third country. Google Maps
This site uses the Google Maps service. Google Maps is a map service of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
To use the functions of Google Maps, information, including the IP address and the address entered as part of the route function, may be transmitted to the provider’s servers. This information is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. When you visit a website that contains Google Maps, your browser establishes a direct connection with the Google servers, whereby the map content is sent to your browser and integrated by it. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transmission. When this policy was written, this included the following data:
- date and time of your visit to the website in question,
- Internet address or URL of the web page called up,
- IP address, (start) address entered during route planning
The use of Google Maps is in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers and to make it easy to find the places we indicate on the website. The legal basis is therefore Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. If you do not want Google to process data via this service, you can deactivate the use of JavaScript in your browser settings. Please note that in this case the interactive map function of Google Maps cannot be used.
